Saturday, February 20, 2010 -
The Stepney Fire Dept bid a fond fairwell to our old Maxim, formerly known as Engine 102.
Built for Stepney in 1972, the Maxim was refurbished in 1983, when it was outfitted with a turbodiesel, an automatic transmission, hose reel and other modifications.
The Maxim was donated to the West Valley Volunteer Fire Department in Tennessee, who really, really needed it.
Before it was put on the flatbed trailer for its trip south the Maxim was filled with hose, tools, airpacks and other surplus equipment. Thanks much to the Monroe and Stevenson Volunteer Fire Departments for their contributions.
