Late Saturday afternoon, we responded along with Stepney Fire Department, multiple EMS units and Police to a multi-vehicle accident at RT 111 near Cross Hill Rd., with reports of the driver of a dump truck requiring extrication. Despite the driver being significantly pinned under the dash, using multiple tools firefighters had him removed within 10 minutes of commencing the extrication. Stepney and Monroe Volunteer Fire Department, No.1 Inc. provided station coverage for Long Hill Volunteer Fire Co. #1 Inc while they operated at a structure fire with Easton, CT Volunteer Fire Department.Just before 6 this evening the Easton Fire Company was dispatched to a reported structure fire on Tuckahoe Road. FD arrived to heavy smoke across the road and fire showing from the eves. Engine 4 with career firefighters Davies and Mirowski along with Easton volunteer lt Wheatley secured the hydrant and took the driveway. Easton volunteer Jethro Forbes was on scene and used a hand line to attack the fire from the exterior. Crews from Easton and Trumbull then gained entry and moved to the second floor to attack the fire knocking down the remaining flames. Crews from Easton Trumbull and Fairfield overhauled the area to ensure the fire was contained to the attic. Great stop and a good job by all involved . Weston Fire covered Easton Fire hq.
